Organization - Firearms Training Unit

The Chandler Police Department firearms training unit is responsible for firearms training, simunitions training, specialty impact munitions training, and the safe effective utilization of all department approved weapons and ammunition. The unit also enures compliance with relevant standards as set by the Department and Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board (AZPOST)and maintains and certifies various firearm systems authorized by this Department. The unit is responsible for research and implementation of firearms training techniques. The unit also supports the AZPOST academy basic firearms training section. They also provide research to the Department in the evolving science of ballistics, lethal and non-lethal force options.
