Fundraising Event for Child's Surgery
Chick-fil-A of Crossroads Towne Center in Chandler, along
with Chandler police officer Scott Veach and his wife Shannon,
are working together to help raise funds for their son Shae’s
third heart surgery.
Shortly before Shae was born an ultra sound revealed that
Shae had a severe heart defect known as Hypo Plastic Left
Heart Syndrome (HLHS). HLHS is a severe heart disorder where
the underdevelopment of the left ventricle of the heart
renders it useless. There is no known cause for this defect.
At the time of Shae’s birth the outlook for his survival was
meager. The Veach family decided to fight for Shae by allowing
doctors to perform an explorative heart treatment. The
treatment consists of 3 surgeries: one surgery four days after
birth, one at six months of age, and a third and hopefully
final surgery will be taking place soon. At age four, Shae has undergone struggles that most of us
will never face. He has defeated all of the odds and with this
third and final surgery will hopefully continue to thrive as a
little boy.
The long-term effects of Shae’s condition are
relatively unknown but with the support of family, friends and
community, the Veach family continues their fight. We here at Chick-fil-A Crossroads Towne Center are proud to
offer our location and assistance to the Veach family. It is
our hopes and our intentions that you too will be as excited
as we are to help out one of your community members and
provide a better quality of life for a much deserving little
boy.
