1st Annual Chandler Police DARE Bowling Tournament

CHANDLER, AZ. The Chandler Police Department’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Unit is proud to announce the 1st Annual D.A.R.E. Bowling Tournament on Friday May 23, 2008 from 3:00pm-6:00pm. This event will take place at the AMF Bowling Alley located at 1900 North Arizona Avenue in Chandler.
The purpose of this event is to promote the department’s D.A.R.E. program. Participants are D.A.R.E. students from the Mesa Unified School District, the Chandler Unified School District, and the Kyrene Unified School district, all in the City of Chandler where the D.A.R.E. program is still taught. Parents, family members, teachers, and school administrators are also expected to attend. The guest host will be Retro Bill, the “Official D.A.R.E. Safety Buddy”. He is known to thousands of students through his Safety Tips video that is shown by our D.A.R.E. officers in the classrooms. He will speak to the participants several times throughout the event, will bowl with the students, distribute free Retro Bill Trading Cards, sign autographs and take photos with the students. He will reinforce our D.A.R.E. message and generate positive attention to our D.A.R.E program and the Chandler Police Department.
