Father Arrested in Abilene, Texas

CHANDLER, AZ. On May 21, 2008 at approximately 1:20 P.M., Abilene Texas police located and arrested Daniel Bara for the abduction of his son from Chandler, Arizona.  Chandler Police worked closely with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Lubbock Police, Abilene Police and the U.S. Marshals Office in the investigating and locating of Daniel Bara.  Bara was arrested for Custodial Interference, which has been aggravated to a class 4-felony since Daniel took the child out of the state of Arizona.  Zion was located and is currently in protective custody.  At this time police are making arrangements to reunite mother and son.  In addition, police are working with the County Attorney’s office in extraditing Daniel to Arizona to face charges of Custodial Interference, A.R.S. 13-1302.  

The mother is available at 4:00 P.M. today at the Chandler Police Department to answer questions and to thank the media for their support in this investigation.
