CHANDLER, AZ. Three male juveniles were arrested for various charges after a night of crime. Two 16-year old Chandler residents were looking to burglarize cars when they located a vehicle, in the 300 block of east Commonwealth, with a key in the ignition. Seizing the opportunity, the suspects stole the vehicle and then picked up a 15-year old associate to continue their burglary plans. The 15-year old, also a Chandler resident, had a gun with him.
The suspects then burglarized a vehicle in the 1700 block of east Camino Street. After committing the burglary, one of the 16-year old suspects noticed a resident standing near a front window of the home where they were committing the vehicle burglary. The 16-year old suspect took the gun from the 15-year old and after taking careful aim at the resident, fired one shot, in an attempt to hit the resident. No one was injured from the gunshot.
The suspects fled, in the stolen vehicle, to a field located near Chandler Blvd. and McQueen where they set the stolen car on fire. Responding officers located the three suspects leaving the scene of the arson and all were taken into custody. Numerous charges have been filed with the Maricopa County Attorney’s office, including 2nd degree attempted homicide.
