How do I file a police report? For lesser crimes, you may FILE A REPORT ONLINE HERE. For higher level crimes, please call the department at . For an emergency, please dial 911.

Where and when can I get my fingerprints? Fingerprinting is done at the Chandler Police Department, 250 E. Chicago St. on Tuesdays from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and Thursdays from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. The charge is $10.00 per card. You must be a Chandler citizen or employee.

Why are Chandler Officers just sitting in their cars at construction sites?
Off-duty officers are "hired" by private contractors and firms to conduct traffic control and security at their work and business sites. In most cases of traffic control, the city requires the contractor to include this in their bid for the job and the officers are paid by the contractor. No tax payer money is then spent on this function and the work site is secure from accidents. Sometimes the contractor requests, or the job site requires physical traffic direction, electronic control of traffic signals, or merely a strategic placement of a patrol car with emergency lights activated.

All of these officers are working in an overtime capacity on their regularly scheduled time off. The contractor pays the police department a flat rate (which covers salary, vehicle use, and benefits) and the PD pays the officer. It is really a win-win situation as accidents are avoided or reduced, the need for regular on-duty personnel is not required, and traffic flows more smoothly.
